My Ruby…After 12 years, it is the journey that is the story. Ruby and I learned the ropes of raising a puppy (or being raised) together. In 1998 I was not very knowledgeable about choosing the right puppy for me. didn’t know to look for personality types, then pick the one that fit me best. I’m glad I made those mistakes, because I can’t imagine living without her or the lessons she taught me. In spite of all my mistakes, she loved me. I tried to teach her obedience, and I started to learn about dogs. I tried to learn about herding and started to understand how to train. I tried to teach her good manners and she taught me how to be patient.
We had had a lot of fun, meeting new friends over the years at agility and herding lessons and trials. She was the first dog I took to the ASCA Nationals and she trialed in agility and herding there. She did great, and that green rosette for open ducks will always be one of my favorites
Ruby’s story is my story, our journey, and I wish we would have had 12 more years of adventure.

I met Blitz on a snowy day in January, 1997 at the Humane Society Shelter in Indianapolis. He was the most friendly and laid back guy you could ever meet. I soon discovered he was (at least) late middle age, probably around 8 when I got him and I had him for 7 years before he passed away on Feb 19, 2004. He paved a wonderful path for the Aussies that came after him, and taught me a lot about the love and devotion of a dog.

Sebastian [1995 - 2007]
Sebastian came from a rescue group that had him at a local pet store. He was the first pet I acquired shortly after purchasing my first home. He lived a rich life ruling the roost over all the dogs and formed a special bond with Dusty. The two played together, with Sebastian often swinging off Dusty's muzzle. Sebastian brought prizes home, ranging in size from crickets to almost full grown rabbits. He loved to survey his domain from the backyard deck.
